The Sleman Regency Government, Yogyakarta Special Region helps entrepreneurs in Sleman Regency to prevent termination of employment (PHK) which has an impact on increasing the number of unemployment. "We continue to accompany businessman in Sleman, especially those whose conditions are not okay due to the affected Pandemi Covid-19 or competition with export products so that they can continue to produce," said Sleman Regent Kustini Sri Purnomo in Sleman, Monday (5/5/ 12/2022). According to him, his party also supervised the development of every industrial business in Sleman Regency.

One of them was carried out by the Sleman Regent together with the Sleman Regency Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag) at PT Kusuma Sandang Mekarjaya (PT KSM) Balecatur, Gamping some time ago.

During the visit, information was obtained that there were around 1,500 employees currently working at PT KSM and manufacturing companies engaged in this textile in 2022 could only market their products in the local market, because demand from abroad was gone.

This is due to several factors, including the incessant Chinese textile product flooding the Indonesian market, causing many domestic textile industries to go out of business.

Then the technology used still uses a lot of old machines, as well as the value of imported raw materials. "We will continue to accompany the industries in Sleman and try to not let the termination of employment (layoffs) on employees due to the industry difficulty operating," he said.

Kustini also hopes that large industries can collaborate with MSMEs and benefit the local residents. That way, there will be no employees who are laid off that have an impact on the increase in unemployment in Sleman Regency.

"If there are obstacles, the Sleman Regency Government is ready to discuss and find a solution," he said.
