Like food, people's demand for clothing products will continue and will never stop. That is why, the textile industry and textile retail business in Indonesia will continue to grow. Responding to this need, Mahek Textile presents a new concept of shopping for textile needs with the concept of one stop shopping by opening a quite magnificent stand-alone outlet in the Pakuwon Square area, West Surabaya. The owner of Mahek Textile, Danny Hiro Samtani claims that the Mahek Textile outlet is the first one stop shopping textile in Surabaya.

With a representative modern four-storey building, equipped with various supporting facilities such as a large parking area, kids play ground, prayer room, elevator, comfortable sofas and more.

"I highlight these points for this place, and for now I think the concept of one stop shopping for textiles is the first in Surabaya and East Java," said Danny at the Mahek Textile outlet, Saturday (11/2/2023).

In his place, Danny said, the price of the fabrics offered varied, starting from IDR 4,900 per meter for rubiah cotton or mustache cotton fabrics to IDR 3 million per meter for bridal fabrics with sequins.

Then fabrics for bridal or wedding gowns such as tile and brocade types are available at prices per meter starting from IDR 20,000.

"So don't worry here, you can shop for fabrics according to the pockets and wishes of the buyer," he said.

Regarding the potential of the textile industry in East Java, Danny explained that it is still very large and not inferior to West Java and Central Java. Especially for the convection sector business actors.

"We will donate a lot for convection, goods that can support MSMEs in East Java," he said.

Danny is also optimistic that in the future the convection industry will stretch even more post-pandemic after nearly three years of absence. For that, he dared to bring in many choices of types of fabrics at competitive prices.

"So the more we bring in convection goods at more competitive prices, the better. Because convection goods can absorb a lot of workers," he said.

This optimism is also supported by an increase in sales since last year, although the figure has not yet reached 100 percent. Danny said, post-pandemic sales growth did occur gradually.

"Indeed there has been an increase, but not like three years ago. Not significant, maybe step by step. Thank God, now there is a 50 percent increase in sales in East Java. But if I look at West Java and Central Java, it is already 70 percent. This seems too late for East Java. The trend It starts from DKI first, to Central Java and then East Java," he said.

Danny saw that after the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for wedding dress fabrics would be high after three years of absence from big events.

The bridal market opportunity itself is quite large. Because at one time a wedding requires a uniform cloth for the whole big family up to 50-60 people.

Likewise for MSME actors engaged in the convection sector. They are looking for production raw material needs such as chiffon and cotton hijab fabrics ranging from the cheapest to premium quality. Regarding the price of textile materials, Danny ensures that the figure can still be absorbed by MSMEs.

"That's why I have the courage to open a store this big because I think the opportunity for East Java is very good. Because I see that Central Java and West Java have, East Java has not. This is our chance to take this opportunity," said Denny.

With the opening of the store, Danny hopes there will be an increase in sales of up to 75 percent this year. Because Mahek used to be a well-known cloth shop at Jembatan Merah Plaza (JMP) Surabaya as a garment center. For this type of textile in Mahek itself, 50 percent are imported goods and 50 percent are local goods.

"We share it, local we are also still concentrating. We mix it with imported fabrics from China," he said.

Mahek Textile this year is also targeting the wholesale and retail market again after the pandemic, only surviving with the retail market. Because, many garment industries down. The wholesale convection market is mostly from suburban areas such as Tuban, Bojonegoro and Sidoarjo.

And to give the public an opportunity to shop for fabric products, Mahek Textile will hold a grand opening on the upcoming 23 February 2023. There will be a fashion show presented by 5 Surabaya designers at this moment.

"During the grand opening later, we will provide goodie bags filled with precious metals and various souvenirs for the first 250 visitors. Meanwhile, those who spend over Rp. 1 million will get a coupon with a cellphone prize and 1 gram of precious metal," explained Danny.
