Saudi Arabian Importers Appreciate Indonesian Textile Producers

Textile and textile product (TPT) importers from Saudi Arabia appreciate Indonesian TPT producers for being cooperative trading partners during the pandemic and post-pandemic. The trust given by Indonesian TPT producers to Saudi Arabian importers facilitates trade transactions between the two parties. This was raised during a business lunch between the Economic and Trade Team at the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh and AI-Ghaith Trading Est. (ATE) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday (3/2/2023). "Saudi Arabian TPT importers, especially Al-Gaith Trading Est., have found it helpful when working with Indonesian TPT producers, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Indonesian TPT producers include PT. Fuji Palapa Textile Industries (Fujitex), PT. Trisulatex and PT Daliatex Kusuma build a trade partnership based on the factor of trust without burdening transaction requirements that are burdensome to Al-Gaith Trading Est., said Trade Attache Riyadh Gunawan.

Indonesian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Ahmad said the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh and trade representatives in Saudi Arabia were committed to helping Saudi Arabian importers to obtain TPT from Indonesia.

He also said he would encourage more and more quality products from Indonesia to enter the Saudi Arabian market.

"The Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh always supports and helps Saudi Arabian importers obtain other Indonesian products, not limited to TPT products, because they see the huge potential for Indonesian products, such as the food and beverage sector, vegetables, fruits, spices, and others. -others," said Ambassador Abdul Aziz Ahmad.

The market segmentation for TPT products from Indonesia targeted by ATE is the upper middle class. Apart from Indonesia, TPT products for the middle class market share are also imported from South Korea, Japan and Germany.

Meanwhile, for TPT products for the lower middle class market share, ATE imports more products from India because of its ability to compete with products from China which are known to be competitive and cheap.
