The holy month of Ramadan is a blessing in itself for clothes sellers at Tanah Abang Market, Central Jakarta. The large number of visitors who come to hunt for clothing for Eid al-Fitr, makes shopping activities at the largest textile center in Southeast Asia even more vibrant. Based on Beritajakarta.id monitoring, the condition of Tanah Abang Market, to be precise in Blocks A, B, F to Thamrin City, was seen to be very crowded with visitors. Most of the visitors came to buy robes, tunics, koko shirts, headscarves, brooches and shirts.

Maryanti (33), an Avishta shop keeper in Block F Tanah Abang, admitted that her sales turnover increased quite drastically after entering the third day of Ramadan.

"Normally, our turnover is Rp. 10 million per day. Since Ramadan, it has increased to Rp. 15 million per day," he said, Saturday (8/4).

Yanti said, visitors generally buy more than three pieces of semi-gamis clothes or kodian. These clothes are usually resold to areas such as Sumatra, Sulawesi, to Kalimantan.

"We have our own convection. So the Kodian prices we offer in stores are much cheaper," he said.

The same thing was conveyed by Permata Sari (34), a UMMA shopkeeper in Thamrin City who focuses on selling robes, bergo and khimar.

"It started to get busy in early March. On a normal day, the turnover is around Rp. 2 million. Now it can be Rp. 3 million," he said.

According to Sari, usually the most visitors come on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and approaching Idul Fitri.

"On days like that, the store's turnover can be more than Rp. 3 million per day," he admits.

Neydia Pricilla (28), one of the visitors, feels it is right to shop at Tanah Abang Market because it provides a wide variety of colors, models and affordable prices.

"At Tanah Abang Market, the price can also be negotiable. What's more, if you buy more than one, the price can be lower again," he stated.
