The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) predicts that the General Election and Presidential Election can increase the growth of the textile industry. This was confirmed by Acting Director General of the Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Textile Industries (IKFT) of the Ministry of Industry, Ignatius Warsito when talking with journalists, in Jakarta, Monday (28/8). "Especially for garments, for T-shirts and party billboards," he said.

Although he did not mention the projected growth for the textile industry in the political year, Warsito believes that the campaign activities in this political year will be quite massive because of the simultaneous presidential and local elections next year.

Warsito also hopes that not only the domestic textile market will rise, but also the export market.

The Director of the Textile, Leather and Footwear Industry of the Ministry of Industry, Adie Rochmanto Pandiangan, said the same thing. He said, the election will increase the demand for textiles.

According to him, textile utilities have started to increase since May-June. At that time, he said there was a moment of Eid. "We hope that the moment of the political year will also increase the demand for textiles," he said.
