Garut Regent Rudy Gunawan visited the prestigious international exhibition entitled 'Lineapelle The International Leather Fair'. The exhibition runs from September 19 to 21, at Fiera Milano Rho, Italy. Lineapelle The International Leather Fair is a well-known exhibition event in Europe that showcases high quality products. This event displays various products related to leather, accessories, components, synthetic materials and textiles for making shoes, bags, leather goods, leather clothing, upholstery materials, car interiors and various other products.

At this exhibition, Garut Regency participated by exhibiting a number of superior leather products that have become the hallmark of Garut, including shoes and bags. Garut Regency's participation is in the context of promoting international scale investment in superior products in the economic sector, especially Garut leather products.

Rudy said he was proud of Garut Regency because it was able to showcase the quality of the region's unique creative industries, especially leather products which have been recognized internationally. He also hopes that through Garut's participation in this activity, he can attract buyers from abroad so that the quality of Garut leather can be on par with the quality of international leather.

"Hopefully the production of bags, shoes, jackets and accessories produced in Europe can use raw materials from Indonesia, especially from us (Garut)," he said in a written statement, Sunday (24/9/2023).

In particular, Rudi appreciated various parties, especially the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg), the Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Menkop UKM), the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Italy, as well as the trade attache who had provided full support for products from Garut so that they could be exhibited at the event. Lineapelle itself, through General Manager Bacchi Fulvia, will prepare a consultant company to continue the sister city program in 2022. This means that the momentum for cooperation between Lineapelle already exists, but has not been followed up by the Garut Regency.

"So the key is movement from the Garut Regency Government to continue this collaboration program," said Rudy.

Also attending this activity accompanied the Regent of Garut, namely Kadisparbud Agus Ismail and Head of Investment Division of the One Stop Investment and Integrated Services Service (DPMPTSP) Titan Pancawati.
