The last week of Ramadhan, South Jakarta's Cipulir textile wholesale center, was filled with visitors shopping for the Idul Fitri holiday. The Cipulir textile wholesale center in South Jakarta was seen full of visitors shopping for Idul Fitri holidays.
All visitors who wish to enter this place are required to comply with health protocols such as wearing masks and washing hands.
However, the large number of visitors resulted in a buildup on the ground floor. The visitors could not keep their distance, jostling and rubbing against each other.
The same thing happened in Cipulir market which is directly opposite ITC Cipulir. The shopping place was also full of visitors. One of the visitors, Ratna Sari, revealed that even though she was crowded, she still chose to shop at this market because the price was relatively cheap and affordable.
"The prices are cheap here. It's really crowded, but the important thing is we wear masks and hand sanitizers too," said Ratna Sari.
Although the number of visitors is relatively large, Evi, one of the traders in the Cipulir market, admits that his turnover is still far from before the pandemic hit.
"Alhamdulillah, it was busy, but the turnover was still below 50 percent compared to before the pandemic," said Evi.
Congestion was inevitable due to the large number of visitors at the Cipulir wholesale center. Congestion occurred on the Ciledug Raya road. In fact, the Jalan Ciledug Raya segment from the direction of Ciledug-Kebayoran was jammed for up to 300 meters. The traffic jam ended in Cipulir. This is because after crossing Cipulir, the Ciledug Raya road section heading for Ciledug-Kebayoran has returned to smooth running.
Similar congestion also occurred in the opposite direction, namely the Kebayoran-Ciledug segment. However, the queue for vehicles was still less than 100 meters. The activity at Cipulir Market began to get busier since 10 days before Lebaran. The location of the place to sell extends to the yard and market parking lot.
