Another great fire occurred on Jalan Bisma Number 40 C, Legian, Kuta, Badung, Friday (6/8) at around 10:00 WITA. This time, allegedly due to a short circuit, a third-floor garment building belonging to I Wayan Alip, 66, caught fire.

There were no fatalities in this disaster, but as a result of the fire, the victims suffered losses of up to hundreds of millions.

Head of the Denpasar Police Public Relations Subdivision Iptu I Ketut Sukadi explained, based on the testimony of witness Ni Wayan Sukerti, 52, the fire accident that occurred at Ika Collection's Garment Art Shop started from Witness Ni Wayan Sukerti, 52.

At that time, the witness, who was in the laundry room in front of the crime scene, saw smoke billowing from the first floor room rented by Victim Ika Murti Wardani Ningsih, 46.

Seeing a puff of smoke, the witness immediately came out through the ventilation while screaming for help.

"Even according to witness testimony (Ni Wayan Sukerti) the condition of the glass at that time was black," said Iptu Sukadi.

Long story short, after hearing the witness' screams, the manager, namely Witness Gusti Ayu Putu Ariani, immediately came out of the boarding room behind the crime scene and turned off all electrical installations.

"The witness also asked the boarding house children and neighbors to immediately inform the Badung Regency Fire Department and the authorities," added Iptu Sukadi.

While waiting for the fire department to arrive, they broke the glass in the garment room, then tried to extinguish the fire with a makeshift water hose.

However, due to the abundance of flammable items, the fire continued to grow. Until finally, about 10 minutes, three units of the Badung firefighters arrived and immediately extinguished the fire.

"Luckily the fire did not spread to the 2nd and 3rd floors or other buildings.
Only the first floor was burned, the area is about 5x7 meters. The items that were charred were clothes for sale, sarongs, bags, sandals, spring badges, refrigerators, bamboo chairs, display racks and printers," explained Iptu Sukadi.

Meanwhile, regarding the cause, from the provisional suspicion, it is strongly suspected that the fire occurred due to an electrical short circuit.

“There were no casualties, and for the time being the losses are still being interpreted and data collection is being done. Fortunately, at the time of the incident, the shop was closed," he said.
