The President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) Said Iqbal said that the level of transmission of Covid-19 in companies is currently starting to decline.

Based on a questionnaire to 400 respondents, the transmission rate of Covid-19 in clusters is in the range of 10 percent, now it is only 5 percent.

"It has decreased, but it's still there. From our data, the mortality rate is also decreasing. What used to be an average of 2 weeks 10-20 people died, now 2-4 people, "said Said Iqbal.

Said revealed that the decrease in the number of cluster cases of Covid-19 in the factory environment was due to the acceleration of vaccinations carried out by the government.

On the other hand, several companies in collaboration with KSPI and the National Police Headquarters provide vaccines to 20,000 to 30,000 workers' vaccines and also encourage a decrease in Covid-19 cases at the factory level.

However, Said assesses that the number of free vaccines is still limited, and not all workers have been vaccinated. In fact, herd immunity has not yet occurred if 50 percent of the population, in this case workers, have not been vaccinated.

The group of workers who have not received the vaccine are those who work in labor-intensive companies such as textiles and garments.

Meanwhile, related to the easing given by the government to export-oriented companies, Said said, these companies were still operating at 100 percent, even before the PPKM was implemented.

“The company continues to operate 100 percent, because they have obtained the IOMKI permit from the Minister of Industry due to policies that are not in sync. One says that it has to operate 50 percent, but the other one can operate 100 percent," said Said Iqbal.

Therefore, it must be checked whether companies that are still running 100 percent have herd immunity or not. Due to labor-intensive export-oriented companies such as textiles, garments, and shoes, many workers have not been vaccinated.
