Being a natural and environmentally friendly fiber brand, TENCEL fiber, in collaboration with one of the partner yarn and fabric producers, PT Laksana Kurnia Mandiri Sejati (LAKUMAS), is participating in the fashion world in Southeast Asia dedicated to traditional woven fabrics for the first time. TENUN Fashion Week will be held on October 15 to 17, 2021 virtually.Through this style competition event, TENCEL and LAKUMAS will present a number of experts in the textile and weaving industry who are full of inspirational stories. This event will share about innovation and creation of woven products with environmentally friendly and sustainable materials. Not only that, this program is also held to empower women weaving activists so that they can have a positive economic and social impact on their communities.


With a discussion session entitled "Innovation in Woven Textile", on the first day of TENUN Fashion Week, Erick Halim, as Marketing Director of LAKUMAS will give an explanation about the company's initiatives to empower women weaving activists. Through the discussion session, information about the innovations and advantages of woven products with TENCEL™ fiber will be presented. This session will be attended by experts in the textile sector, Celia Elumba, representatives from the Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI), and Dr. Sitthichai Smanchat, from Ubon Ratchathani University, Thailand.
