Textile company Lenzing Group introduced jeans or denim with sustainable lyocell fibers under the TENCEL™ brand with a matte type for the denim industry on Tuesday (19/10). This type of fiber is specially designed to reduce the shimmering effect on denim products, thereby enhancing the functionality of fabrics that use a natural dyeing system for blue or dark colors, otherwise known as the indigo dyeing system. Director of Global Business Development Denim and Americas Lenzing AG Tricia Carey explained that her party has been working closely with consumers and fabric manufacturing partners to meet the needs of consumers who want to have a denim fabric option made from matte.

This is quoted from a press statement that Fimela.com received.

"By applying an innovative production process to make TENCEL™ Lyocell fiber with a matte type, we are setting a new standard for indigo coloring applications," said Tricia regarding the manufacture of her new matte denim material, quoted from a press statement, Monday (25/10).

Denim products are one type of product that has always been the main clothing and is always in everyone's wardrobe even though fashion trends continue to change from year to year. In this case, the manufacture of this matte material also aims to introduce sustainable jeans or denim products so that they are increasingly known by the wider community.

That's what makes many brands continue to strive to launch the latest denim collections that match the clothing styles of their consumers. In this era, many brands also provide sustainable products so that they last longer and are not environmentally damaging.
Lenzing is at the forefront of advocating for complete sustainability by creating products made with naturally derived raw materials and biodegradable cellulose fibres.

“TENCEL™ Lyocell with matte type is a product that combines functionality and aesthetics,” added Tricia.
As already said, this product will increase the versatility of denim design while reducing the ecological footprint of fabric and garment production. This is because this product is made with a closed-loop production process that is efficient in terms of resource use, and also provides a smooth feeling on the skin and gives a dense color appearance.
According to a press release, Lenzing is fully responsible for the production process as it provides physical identification for each TENCEL™ branded fiber with fiber identification technology. That way, every TENCEL™ branded fiber is fully traceable using this technology.

This is done to assure consumers that the raw materials used really come from responsibly processed sources.

Currently, Lenzing has collaborated with global partners, including Advance Denim (China), Artistic Fabric Mills Pvt. Ltd (Pakistan), Arvind Limited (India), Fan Denim (Turkey), KG Denim Limited (India), Panther Denim/Tat Fung (China) and Textil Santanderina (Spain) to launch a new fiber branded TENCEL™ lyocell with a deep matte type Kingpins Digital Show.

It is hoped that in the future this will help improve the overall sustainability of the denim industry thanks to the right decisions made by industry owners and consumers alike.
