The National Standardization Agency (BSN) continues to encourage business actors to apply the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). One of the business actors who still exist during the COVID-19 pandemic is PT. Sansan Saudaratex Jaya. This company even helped the government in preventing the spread of COVID-19 through the production of SNI-certified masks. Founder & President Director of PT. Sansan Saudaratex Jaya, Gunaras Danubrata and the Director of PT. Sansan Saudaratex Jaya, Budi Danubrata while doing a Press Tour with BSN at his factory located in Cimahi, Bandung, Bara Java, Friday (5/11) said that the COVID-19 pandemic was seen as an opportunity to produce

masks.

“The company's ability to produce masks can reach 800,000 pcs/month. Our masks are certified SNI 8914:2020 Textiles - Masks made of cloth, type 3 system, with No. TEXPA certificate - 32.06.128," said Gunaras.

To achieve SNI, several trials were conducted to meet the requirements of SNI. "Starting from the production of fabric waste, we made a trial of mask products from several shapes, types of fabrics and number of layers, as well as testing both internally and externally to ensure our mask products can meet SNI standards," he added.

PT Sansan Saudaratex Jaya, which was established in 1959, is already well-known as a company engaged in the international standard textile sector. The desire to assist the government in creating jobs, and absorbing textile production from its own factories, became the background for this company to be founded. Also the desire to help the company in overcoming the negative impact of the devaluation.

Even though it has experienced “ups and downs”, the company has made changes in Transformation, Reformation and Regeneration. By carrying out the correct way of working/work system and improving the way of working/work system that is still considered wrong, the company continues to progress and develop, so that the company can support the lives of all 8 thousand employees.

Undoubtedly, PT Sansan Saudaratex Jaya has succeeded in producing large quantity of export garments for well-known big brands which are marketed to a number of countries in Europe, America and Asia.

By already having SNI, Gunaras hopes that his mask products can be widely known that the masks produced by PT Sansan Saudaratex Jaya are produced with a process that is in accordance with SNI standards. "Directly and indirectly can also increase the good name of the company which is connected with an increase in sales," he added.

It is hoped that in the future, the company can develop products with brands that have been registered in SNI and try to make other SNI standard products that are still in the realm of company production (garment) and if possible, want to expand into other business opportunity products.

“In addition to masks that have SNI, our other production, namely children's clothing with the JSM (Jules Miles) brand, has also been SNI numbered SNI 7617:2013/Amd 2014 Textiles - Requirements for azo dyes, formaldehyde content and extracted metal content in cloth, Amendment 1," he concluded.

The Head of the Bureau of Public Relations, Cooperation, and Information Services of BSN, Zul Amri on the same occasion expressed his appreciation for the company that has succeeded in achieving this mask SNI.

"By applying SNI, especially SNI for cloth masks, it means helping the government in preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. In addition, it can also provide choices for the public to choose quality products that have been tested with the achievement of SNI for cloth masks, "explained Zul, as quoted in a BSM release in Jakarta, Saturday (6/11/2021).
