Domestic creative economy activists now have a place to channel their talents as well as to encourage business potential in the fashion sector. Through the collaborative space of the Jakarta Fashion Hub (JFH), it is hoped that this platform can mobilize the potential of the industry, especially in the textile fashion and sustainable creative economy in the country. "Through the Jakarta Fashion Hub, it is hoped that the creation of national fashion works can be better, have a special place in the hearts of the people and Indonesian works are more ready to compete worldwide.

This inauguration is also expected to continue to provide innovation, be able to adapt and strengthen collaboration in the fashion ecosystem in Indonesia," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) RI Sandiaga Uno in a press statement, while giving his inauguration speech on December 4.

He added that the creative economy and fashion market opportunities are still very open in Indonesia. The government also continues to strive to provide the best raw materials for the fashion industry, develop programs that support the president's instructions to make Indonesia a modest center for world fashion and promote the spirit of #BanggaBuatanIndonesia and #EverythingAdaDisini.

"Visitors who use the Jakarta Fashion Hub, continued Sandiaga, can help the government's efforts to encourage increased competitiveness of the creative economy, create product collaborations that are ready to compete in national and international markets and support Indonesia's economic recovery due to the Covid-19 pandemic," he said.

Director of APR Basrie Kamba, said that the Jakarta Fashion Hub is expected to be a driving force for the creative economy industry in Indonesia through the facilities it offers, including providing solutions for creativeprenurs who have had difficulty developing their business models.

"With this inauguration, we hope that more and more young people will participate in exploring the potential and creative ideas in producing original Indonesian-made fashion products that are able to go worldwide in accordance with President Joko Widodo's vision to encourage #Proud of Indonesia. We are optimistic that Indonesia can become a global fashion center,” said Basrie.

On the same occasion, Basrie also conveyed the commitment of Jakarta Fashion Hub to collaborate with multi-stakeholders to encourage the development of textile materials based on native Indonesian rayon fiber. The potential for this collaboration will provide benefits to each party worth a total of IDR 1 billion, both in the form of rayon fabric, the availability of creative space, and promotional activities.

For information, Jakarta Fashion Hub not only offers a place to design concepts, design fashion products to take advantage of various available facilities, such as workshop areas, co-working spaces, photo studios and ready-to-buy fabrics. With 3,900 active members, Jakarta Fashion Hub has collaborated with at least 50 domestic brands/fashion designers and organized fashion shows, virtual shopping and webinars around fashion and sustainable fashion.
