There was something different about the Vespa Pustaka Indonesia mobile library on Sunday (6/3/2022), at Klidang Wetan. Not only presenting dozens of open titles for loan, this time the administrators also distributed decent clothes. Apparently this time the Vespa Pustaka Indonesia Batang Community collaborated with World Cleanup Day (WCD) Batang. These two communities work together to collect wearable clothes to be distributed to the local community. In total, there were 13 boxes of clothes that were suitable for use, which were distributed to the public.

“There are so many negative impacts from waste or textile waste, so the best option is to donate used clothes. That way, it will prevent unused clothes from being stored back in the closet, and ready to be used again," explained Vespa Pustaka Nesia Indonesia representative, Ratih accompanied by WCD Batang representative, Septi.

According to Ratih, donating clothes suitable for use can reduce the disposal of textiles into the sea. Meanwhile, this type of waste can damage, injure, and even kill natural wildlife in the sea.

His party is still opening up opportunities for people who want to donate clothes. "If people have clothes that are still appropriate and are no longer used, they can be donated through us," he added.

One of the residents, Failah (35), said she was helped by this program. Besides children being able to read books for free, residents can also get decent clothes for free.

"Alhamdulillah, very happy and very enthusiastic. Moreover, seeing the younger siblings at Sidomulyo Klidang Wetan is excited to learn with the brothers from Vespa Pustaka Indonesia and their friends. Hopefully there will be more activities like this here, success for Vespa Libraries in Indonesia in the future," he hoped.
