The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has just announced the latest economic conditions, namely the first quarter of 2022 where growth skyrocketed to 5.01%. A number of businesses also experienced significant growth. "GDP in the first quarter of 2022 comes from industry, trade, agriculture, mining and construction," said Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Margo Yuwono at a press conference, Monday (9/5/2022).

The natural processing industry grew 5.07% and contributed 19.19% to the distribution.

"This sector has a share of 19.19% and as a lever for the growth of the processing industry due to the growth of the textile and apparel sub-sectors, food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical and traditional medicine industries," he explained.

Next up there is a trade with 5.71% and a share of 13.09%. Supported by car sales and imports. The highest natural trade transportation growth was 15.79% and contributed 4.62%.

"Improving people's mobility makes them grow and international and national events and this increase in e-commerce activities support the growth of transportation and warehousing," he explained.
