The cleaning equipment industry has shown positive growth during the Covid-19 pandemic along with increasing public awareness of maintaining cleanliness as a preventive measure to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Domestic market demand is increasing, as is demand for commercial sector needs such as office and industrial operations. As pointed out by PT Klinko Karya Imaji, a cleaning equipment manufacturer based in Gresik, East Java. The company achieved a net profit of 46 percent compared to 2020.

The company targets a growth of 300 percent in 2022, and increases again to 200 percent in 2023 or worth Rp. 2.8 billion and Rp. 4.3 billion in 2024.

Klinko's President Director, Anggun Supanji, stated that cleaning equipment is a household appliance commodity that has a high absorption in the market and a stable sales trend because it supports hygiene and the quality of human life.

“Klinko has a vision to become an international standard producer of quality and environmentally friendly cleaning equipment. We have a philosophy of Cleaning with Colors, manifested through Klinko product variants that are colorful and dynamic. This means that we want cleaning activities to seem fun, no longer considered boring," said Anggun, Tuesday (10/5/2022).

Founded in 2016, the company initially produced 5,000 mops per month with a focus on the domestic commercial and retail market. It didn't take long for the company's business to accelerate in marketing various household cleaning products such as lobby dusters, floor mats, mops, and 16 other derivative products.

A year later, the cleaning equipment industry succeeded in penetrating the export market first to Singapore and Italy and then expanding to markets on four continents, namely Asia, Africa, America, and Europe. This success is also supported by the cooperation model of private labels by supplying their products to commercial clients to be marketed as other brands.

This collaboration model has succeeded in reaching both domestic and global markets, due to a number of Klinko advantages such as large production capacity, environmentally friendly materials, competitive prices, and allowing clients to customize products according to their needs with attractive colors. In addition, Klinko's operational location in a major industrial area in East Java also facilitates cross-island distribution.

The products produced by this company have the main characteristics of being environmentally friendly, which is reflected through the application of the 3R concept (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle), in the process of selecting recycled yarn materials without using chemical dyes in creating various colored products, because they already use colors that have come from recycled textile waste material, making it more environmentally friendly.

The production process that applies the principle of circular economy is proven to be able to absorb 60,000 to 120,000 kg of textile waste per year until now and will continue to grow in line with the projected increase in production in the following year.

Anggun explained that his company implements environmentally friendly textile waste recycling materials in 90 percent of its product categories and will continue to grow in the future.

This is also support for the 2022 G20 Presidency agenda, through real contributions in dealing with climate change due to the impact of industrial activities in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Program, especially in point 12 on Responsible Consumption and Production or sustainable consumption and production that has been set by United Nations (United Nations).
