Production activities in the Lamicitra industrial area have been disrupted due to tidal flooding since last Monday (23/5/22). One of the sectors included in it is the textile industry. However, the business community said there had been improvements. "So far, there is no information on the significant impact because there are not too many imports and exports through Tanjung Emas," said Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Jemmy Kartiwa Sastraatmaja, Wednesday (25/5/22).

He did not mention in detail the size of the export-import passing through the Tanjung Emas port. However, according to him, it does not have a significant impact.

However, affected manufacturers must start communicating with their buyers, including delays in delivery.

"Each one will be negotiated between the employer (buyer) and the producer," said Deputy General Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Benny Soetrisno.

Massive tidal flooding and the effects of the broken embankment hit the bonded area of Tanjung Mas Port, Semarang. The tidal flood was further exacerbated by the collapse of the embankment in the Tanjung Mas Port area which made many workers trapped in a one-meter-high water siege.

"Because the tidal flood is so frequent that it causes the north side, there is a levee built by the government, it is not strong enough to withstand the amount of water, it finally bursts," said Head of RW 1 Bandarharjo, North Semarang, Ali Komet.
