Gambir has also been used by MSMEs for textile craft products typical of the Limapuluh Kota Regency. The latest gambir batik has also become an attraction for fashion designers, textile entrepreneurs and visitors at the 2022 Autonomy Application Expo. He admitted, Gambir batik is very possible to be developed. He is interested in collaborating in the development of this Limapuluh Kota gambir batik.

Gambir, especially its sap extract, is a leading export product from Limapuluh Kota. According to data, the total national export value of gambier reaches 18,000 tons with an estimated value of Rp. US$ 55 million dollars.

The Province of West Sumatra (West Sumatra), especially the Limapuluh Kota Regency, contributes as much as 50 percent of the national production of gambier.

Later, the latex extract, which is processed into tannins, is used to make batik by relying on a typical Minangkabau-flavoured design.
