Government spending on domestic products, which is targeted at IDR 400 trillion, is claimed to be a factor in the increasingly expansive manufacturing purchasing manager index (PMI) of Indonesia. According to the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, government spending driven by the Increase in the Use of Domestic Products (P3DN) program has shown a significant increase. "An increase in government orders for manufactured products, especially in the textile and textile products (TPT) sector, as well as electronic equipment machinery," he said, Monday (1/8/2022).

However, Agus did not provide more detailed indicators regarding the increase in government spending in the P3DN program that was delivered.

In addition, he continued, domestic orders were also said to have increased with the new school year in July 2022, the previous holiday season, which grew the tourism industry, thereby increasing demand for beverage products.

"Then, there is also demand from fellow industries, such as for steel products and heavy equipment for mining needs," he said.

As previously reported, Indonesia's manufacturing index in July 2022 again showed good performance. With 51.2 points, Indonesia's manufacturing index in July was the highest in the last 3 months.
