The Ministry of Industry said it was ready to supply the needs of 135,000 textile and textile product (TPT) workers, one of which was carried out through the construction of an industrial vocational education unit at the Surakarta Textile and Textile Product Industry Community Academy since 2015. In addition, the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry is increasingly improving the quality of the Bandung Textile Technology College Polytechnic (STTT), which has been established for 100 years.

"In fact, we are actively organizing 3 in 1 system training (training, competency certification and job placement) to meet operator-level TPT industry workers," said Head of BPSDMI of the Ministry of Industry, Arus Gunawan in a statement in Jakarta, Saturday.

Arus Gunawan said that in order for graduates from the industrial vocational education unit of the Ministry of Industry to work in accordance with industry needs, BPSDMI continues to collaborate with industry stakeholders in various forums and discussions, involving business actors, industry and associations ranging from study program planning, curriculum preparation, teaching activities. , industrial work practice activities, to the absorption of graduates.

"For this reason, activities such as the Solo Textile Akom Industry Meeting are also good examples that must be carried out, because they can absorb the aspirations of the textile industry needs which are then outlined in the learning plan," said Arus.

In order to optimize the absorption of labor from graduates of the industrial vocational education unit, the Ministry of Industry through the Center for Industrial Vocational Education Development (PPPVI) BPSDMI presents the Career Development Center (CDC) of the Ministry of Industry Education Unit.

"CDC is built with a concept created by Skills for Competitiveness (S4C), which is a bilateral project between Switzerland and Indonesia, and is integrated with the concept that has been prepared by the development team of the BPSDMI education unit," said Arus.

CDC will become an integrated platform as well as an icon of the Ministry of Industry's BPSDMI which will also become a role model or role model for other agencies.

Mentioned, there are various features designed in the CDC system to assist students in their career journey, such as Job Vacancies, Industrial Vocational Clinics, Interest and Aptitude Tests, Prakerin Vacancies, Entrepreneurship, Scholarships, and others.

Besides being useful for students, CDC can provide fresh air for the industry because with the presence of the program, companies can get more targeted workforce as needed. In addition, CDC can be a forum or means of input related to industrial HR.

"The CDC's presentation at the Surakarta Textile Akom Industry Meeting some time ago is expected to further introduce the program to the industry, so that industry participation in the CDC program will increase," said Arus.

In addition, he said, socialization was also carried out so that the industrial vocational education unit of the Ministry of Industry could immediately implement CDC in its work unit. Currently, 63.6 percent of the higher education units of the Ministry of Industry have implemented CDC.

Arus also encouraged Akom Textile Surakarta to implement Corporate University (CorpU). BPSDMI CorpU acts as an individual and organizational learning development strategy, by utilizing science management and its programs that focus on organizational goals and strategies.

“I remind lecturers to continue to encourage the implementation of Corporate University policies at Akom ITPT Surakarta. Because this policy has been set since the end of last year and the action plan and implementation target have also been filled out,” said Arus.
