National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo expressed his commitment to participate in guarding the economic recovery process which is currently facing challenges due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic. This statement was made by Listyo Sigit when he was appointed as the National Police Chief by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Wednesday (27/1/2021).

"The National Police will guard the national economic growth so that we can all be separated from all existing situations," said Listyo. According to Listyo, the role of the National Police in maintaining economic growth is very central. This is because the economy will be able to grow, if the stability of security and public order (kamtibmas) can be maintained properly. "Of course, all of this can be done if the stability of Kamtibmas everything runs smoothly and well," he added.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially appointed General Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the 25th National Police Chief at the State Palace, Jakarta, replacing General Idham Azis who is about to retire.

Of the five names proposed by the President to become the National Police Chief, Jokowi chose Listyo Sigit as the sole candidate. The name Listyo was then brought to the DPR to undergo a fit and proper test.

Listyo attended a fit and proper test on Wednesday (20/1/2021) with Commission III of the DPR at the Parliament Building. After that, the Council accepted the proposal and submitted it through a plenary session.

He was sworn in and was sworn in by the President. After taking the oath, Listyo, who was originally a Commissioner General, was promoted one level to become General.

Meanwhile, after being inaugurated Listyo was determined to make the figure of the Police firm but still humanist towards the community. In addition, Listyo also promised to maintain security stability to boost the economy.
