The Minister of Trade (Mendag), Zulkifli Hasan, held a meeting with the new Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdulah H. Amodi. The meeting which took place at the Office of the Ministry of Trade, Jakarta, on Tuesday (28/2/2023) discussed closer cooperation and collaboration between the two countries. With this meeting, the Minister of Trade (Mendag), Zulkifli Hasan hopes that a meeting between Indonesian and Saudi Arabian business actors can be realized soon. Amodi on his placement as the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Indonesia, after the end of the

Previously, trade cooperation between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia had been well established, one of which was through textile products. Where the two countries have become cooperative trading partners during the pandemic and post-pandemic. So that importers of textiles and textile products (TPT) from Saudi Arabia also appreciate Indonesian TPT producers. The trust given by Indonesian TPT producers to Saudi Arabian importers facilitates trade transactions between the two parties.
This was revealed in a business lunch between the Economic and Trade Team at the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh and AI-Ghaith Trading Est. (ATE) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Friday (3/2/2023).
"Saudi Arabian TPT importers, especially Al-Gaith Trading Est, find it helpful when working with Indonesian TPT manufacturers, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Indonesian TPT producers include PT. Fuji Palapa Textile Industries (Fujitex), PT. Trisulatex , and PT Daliatex Kusuma, build trade cooperation based on the factor of trust without burdening transaction requirements that are burdensome to Al-Gaith Trading Est., "said the Riyadh Trade Attache, Gunawan.
Indonesian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Ahmad said the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh and trade representatives in Saudi Arabia were committed to helping Saudi Arabian importers to obtain TPT from Indonesia.
He also said that he would encourage more and more quality products from Indonesia to enter the Saudi Arabian market.
"The Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh always supports and helps Saudi Arabian importers obtain other Indonesian products, not limited to TPT products, because they see the huge potential for Indonesian products, such as the food and beverage sector, vegetables, fruits, spices, and others. -other," said Ambassador Abdul Aziz Ahmad.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan at the meeting was accompanied by the Director General of International Trade Negotiations, Djatmiko Bris Witjaksono.
