Dozens of booths were lined up neatly at the Sriwijaya Expo at the Jakabaring Sport City (JSC) Dinning Hall July 2-5 2021. However, only one booth attracted visitors from the various existing booths, namely the Gambo Muba booth.

This atmosphere was evident when the Sriwijaya Expo event opened Friday (2/7/2021) night. Visitors from various regions stormed the Gambo Muba booth, some bought and some saw the charm of Gambo Muba which is an eco fashion product initiated by the Chairperson of the TP PKK Muba, Thia Yufada Dodi Reza.

"Frankly, I was very attracted, because the material for Gambo Muba is made from gambir sap and works created by rural women in Muba," said Dhina Shabela, a visitor to Sriwijaya Expo.

Dhina said that she and her distant family came from East OKU Regency, curious to see Gambo Muba firsthand.

"Because we always follow information about Gambo Muba products on social media and in the news, and thank God our curiosity paid off tonight being able to see Gambo Muba directly," he said.

Melinda, one of the ASN in the South Sumatra Provincial Government, admitted that she was very attracted to Gambo Muba.

"The material is very smooth, it's only natural that this product is already known and liked by various groups in foreign countries," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Trade and Industry Office, Azizah SSos MT, admitted that the products displayed at the Muba booth included dolls made of Gambo Muba, handcrafted betel nut instead of styfoam. "On average, visitors want to see Gambo Muba firsthand and ask about the manufacturing process," he explained.

Azizah explained previously, in the April 2021 issue of Ozip International Magazine, Gambo Muba became the front cover of the magazine and was discussed in depth.

"In addition, during the Eid celebration some time ago, the extended family of former RI President Megawati Soekarno Putri and the Chair of the Indonesian Parliament, Puan Maharani, wore the Gambo Muba as a large family uniform," he explained.

Then, continued Azizah, the Gambo Muba product initiated by the Chairman of the TP PKK Muba Thia Yufada Dodi Reza also received recognition from PPPA Minister Bintang Puspayoga.
Bintang said that Gambo Muba is not just an eco-fashion product, but also has an economic effect and empowers women in Muba, especially in remote areas.

Gambo Muba is a typical jumputan cloth, dyed with gambier sap which was initially considered waste and thrown away. In the hands of the Dodi-Thia husband and wife, the waste is transformed into the main dye for the fabric. As an Eco fashion product, Gambo Muba uses 100 percent natural antichemical dyes.

This also answers the international issue that more than 50 percent of chemical waste comes from textile waste. Gambo Muba is an alternative action and Muba's contribution to the textile world, this product does not produce chemical waste but utilizes gambir sap waste for Gambo Muba dye.

The Chairperson of the Sriwijaya Expo 2021 Committee, Ernila Rizar, said that the Sriwijaya Expo 2021 event will introduce all potentials and superior products originating from areas in South Sumatra. Participants did not only come from regencies in South Sumatra but also other regions.

"In total there are 49 participants with 90 booths. Participants include the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Tourism, BNPB and the Ministry of Hum and Human Rights. In addition there are also from other regions," he said.
