The exhibition of textile and clothing crafts at Jelang Julang was marked by a workshop on making shibori mixed with batik, Friday (30/9/2022). The workshop was held at the Gekrafs secretariat building in Malang City on Jalan Majapahit. According to Alexander Soegio, Head of Gekrafs Malang, his party facilitates the distribution of works of people with disabilities for three days, from September 30 to October 2, 2022.

In the room displayed their work. There are also product sales, for example, shibori-patterned t-shirts, which sell for Rp. 75,000 for short-sleeved and long-sleeved t-shirts for Rp. 150,000.
Another Gekrafs administrator, John Cataleya, who is a fashion designer, added that there was also a fashion show at the peak of the event on Sunday (2/10/2022) featuring their work.
Workshop participants included students from the archipelago module program from 20 universities in Indonesia who studied at STIE Malangkucecwara.
Eko Sudjarwoto, a lecturer in the archipelago module, said the idea came from the students because they saw it on social media.
"We also have a work program. But it can be flexible if students are interested in an event," he said.
There were 65 students from universities from Papua to Aceh came to the event wearing alma mater coats.
"We invite them to experience local wisdom in Malang," he said.
So that when in Malang, they can know the culture and people. Fiko from Hamparan Rintik provided material at the workshop in the form of shibori combined with batik, ecoprint.
It is said that the manufacture of shibori batik only plays tie and dye. But there is a lot of waste. But if combined with batik, then the water waste is little. He said that more and more people who are able to make shibori do not mean there is a lot of competition. Instead, it can collaborate on marketing. Support for parents with disabilities is high at this event. There are 10 associations that participate in the bazaar by selling various products.
