After successfully debuting at London Fashion Week, local fashion brand Klamby officially launched its latest Spring/Summer 2023 collection called The Tudor Rose Series which was inspired by the rich heritage of the archipelago. A total of 48 clothes have been present in various colors and fashions wrapped in a touch of traditional wastra. In this collection, Klamby displays various forms of clothing ranging from caftans to bulkheads with intricate decorations and fine details that look very chic. Not only limited to Muslim clothing, this time Klamby presents a collection of modest fashion that is trendy, modern, and fresh.

"Indonesia's cultural wealth has given birth to so many works of art and fashion. Many Indonesian fashions are inspired by Indonesian culture, such as Klamby who promoted Garut Weaving at the London fashion week event," said Nadine Gaus as Founder of Klamby, Wednesday. (5/10/2022).

Nadine explained that the name of The Tudor Rose Series collection itself was taken from the favorite flower of the late Queen Elizabeth II, which is also the British National flower in the history of the War of the Roses. The selection of the name of the Klamby collection this time is also in memory of the departure of the queen.

One of the dresses inspired by the late queen that stands out the most in this collection is a black dress with a 1950s silhouette. At London Fashion Week, the dress was showcased by model Patricia Gouw, who is one of Klamby's muses with singer Raisa and artist Tantri Namirah.

This collection is also inspired by one of the archipelago's literatures that attracts attention because of its appearance that looks different compared to other literature that is familiar to the community, namely Garut Bulu Sutera Weaving.

The attractive texture, various decorations, and various colors add to the special attraction of a piece of Garut Silk Feather Weaving wastra which is woven with silk thread using a Non-Machine Weaving Tool (ATBM).

"That's where the inspiration came from to explore the texture, history, and decoration in a piece of literature that has undergone many revolutions, changing times and technology," said Nadine.

The various motifs that adorn Garut's woven fabrics are inspired by the rich flora of the archipelago such as puspa (jasmine), magnolia, ylang, tuberose, black orchid, begonia, betel, and nagasari.

The Tudor Rose collection is presented in 48 choices of clothing with designs that have a touch of traditional Indonesian wastra in a variety of classic neutral colors to bold bold colors.

Nadine said that in this collection, Klamby uses various types of materials whose development process goes through several stages of textile exploration techniques such as laser cut, embroidery, and beading. These techniques are applied to create texture and detail on the fabric.

"The high value of craftsmanship in this collection is more exclusive with a choice of colors that match the trend. And what I want to add is Klamby is a brand that carries diversity and inclusivity in each of its collections," he explained.

By appearing on the international fashion stage, Nadine hopes that Klamby can inspire the world through its Indonesian heritage and offer fashion collections that can be enjoyed by women globally.
