The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) continues to improve the quality of industrial human resources (HR) based on industrial needs, one of which is the textile industry which is one of the labor -intensive industries and is the backbone of the national economy. The existence of competent and global competitive human resources is the main key to encouraging the movement of the industrial sector. For this reason, the Ministry of Industry seeks to improve the quality of industrial human resources through industrial vocational education. The key to the successful implementation of vocational education is a collaboration with industry in producing graduates who can directly work in the industry.
"Industrial human resources play an important role in supporting the performance of the national industry and maintaining the contribution of the industrial sector to GDP which currently reaches 17.88% and is the largest compared to other sectors. You are people who are ready to work in their fields, become the backbone of the Indonesian textile industry that gives an important part of the development of the Indonesian manufacturing sector and the Indonesian economy from year to year, "said Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry Dody Widodo at the Graduation of the STTT Bandung Polytechnic, Saturday (3 3 /12).
STTT Bandung Polytechnic is a Polytechnic College owned by the Ministry of Industry and is a work unit under the Ministry of Industry's Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry. A total of 399 Human Resources (HR) of the graduation industry on this occasion, consisting of 80 graduates of the Diploma 1, 290 graduates of the Diploma 4 program, and 29 graduates of the applied S2 program. A total of 295 graduates have worked, and 32 people became entrepreneurs. "This means that during this graduation, STTT Bandung Polytechnic graduates have been absorbed by 82% in the world of work," explained Dody.
The percentage of vocational education graduates who get a job in one year after graduation of 85% is one of the work indicators of the Ministry of Industry's strategic target based on the perspective of stakeholders (stakeholders perspective). While the absorption of the Bandung STTT3 Polytechnic graduate reaches 100% with a waiting time for graduates of less than seven months, which means the target of Tapkin 2022 for the absorption of graduates is achieved.
On the same occasion, the Head of BPSDMI Kemenperin Gunawan said, the Ministry of Industry continues to encourage the availability of competent industrial human resources to pursue the needs of the industrial sector. Projected, the needs of industrial human resources every year reach 682,000 people. In order to meet these needs, the Ministry of Industry continues to collaborate with national vocational stakeholders.
The Director of the Bandung STTT Polytechnic, Tina Martinam said, the industrial government for the graduates of the Bandung STTT Polytechnic in 2022 reached 592 vacancies. "Whereas this year we can only graduate as many as 399 graduates. This means that the need for textile industry human resources is still high, "said Tina
Chairman of the Bandung City DPRD Tedy Rusmawan who also attended the occasion said, Bandung City was one of the textile industry centers. Therefore, the Bandung City Government and the DPRD are always open in communicating and working with the Bandung STTT Polytechnic for the development of the textty industry.
"Alhamdulillah, in 2022, we contributed by providing assistance in the form of scholarships of Rp136 million for STTT Bandung Polytechnic students who are residents of Bandung. Hopefully in the future cooperation can continue to be established, "he said.
