The Sidoarjo Regency Government introduced a number of small and medium industrial (IKM) products to the wives of national leadership training participants (PKN) at the Delta Wibawa Hall, Sidoarjo Regency, Friday (9/12/2022) Head of Dekranasda Sidoarjo Hj. Sa'adah Ahmad Muhdlor said that what is known in Sidoarjo is small and medium industries. “Sidoarjo has quite a lot of small and medium industries. What was displayed in this pavilion were only some of them, namely representatives of leather, textile, batik to food and beverage production which are Sidoarjo's characteristics," he said in front of the participants.
Ning Sasha, the nickname for the Chairman of Dekranasda, added that Sidoarjo is known for its craft tourism because many villages have been declared as village craftsmen, such as in Tebel Gedangan Village as a Hat Craftsmen Village.
"They work on school children's hats which are marketed throughout Indonesia. There is also a pity village, for making large pots and pans. Apart from that, there is Kampung Batik Jetis," he added.
Then, he continued, what is no less interesting is the leather industry in Tanggulangin which has been known for a long time to produce bags and luggage.
"During the COVID-19 pandemic, many craftsmen in Tanggulangin marketed their products online, so they can still survive today," said Ning Sasha.
The wife of the Chairperson of the PKN Class II Batch 24, Mrs. Hj. Nur Hidayati Muhammad Juaini Taofiq said he was pleased with the welcome given by the Sidoarjo Regency government regarding this visit. "Thank you for being received comfortably and extraordinary because this visit can increase friendship," he said.
He said, in addition to increasing friendship during the visit, a mock study would also be carried out related to the marketing of the IKM products produced.
As you know, PKN is one of the Level II National Leadership Training for officials or candidates for echelon II officials. In the Ladies event the program itself is training for the wives of echelon II officials to be given insight and knowledge related to the duties of their husbands.
One of the subjects and their orientation is visiting districts/cities, one of which is in Sidoarjo district. The specification is the success of SMEs or the success of the work that becomes an example.
