The fire at the PT Koesoemananda Putra textile factory warehouse on the Pedan-Karangdowo road, Jatimulyo Village, Pedan District, Klaten has been successfully extinguished. This fire became the biggest fire in the last 4 years in Klaten. "As for the fire incident at PT Kusuma Nanda Putra Pedan, it is true that it was the biggest incident in my 4 years at the fire department," explained the Head of the Fire Rescue and Evacuation Division of the Klaten Regency Satpol-PP Fire Department, Sumino to detikJateng, Saturday (17/12/2022).

According to Sumino, the fire in Pedan was the biggest because it took the longest time to handle it. It took 35 hours from day one.

"Handling takes almost 35 hours. The largest use of water is around 268 tanks," said Sumino.

The fire, continued Sumino, occurred on Wednesday (14/12) morning and was only completely extinguished on Thursday (15/12) afternoon. Only then can the firefighting team from Klaten and the surrounding area be withdrawn.

"The total blackout was Thursday (15/12) at around 16.45 WIB. The personnel were withdrawn at 18.00 WIB after finishing cleaning equipment and closing operations," explained Sumino.

Pedan Police Chief AKP Aleg Ipanudin stated that the fire at the PT Koesoemananda Putra textile factory had been extinguished. The suspected cause of the fire is an electrical short.

"It's true that it could have completely gone out. It is suspected that the cause was due to an electrical short circuit," said Aleg Ipanudin to detikJateng.

Previously it was reported that the PT Kusumananda Putra textile factory on Jalan Pedan-Karangdowo, Klaten, caught fire. The fire devoured the ready-to-ship fabric warehouse.

Wednesday (14/12/2022) at 09.30 WIB, three firefighting units from the Klaten Regency Government were deployed to the location. Firefighters and volunteers worked hard to put out the fire.

The fire engulfed a warehouse south of the factory near a rice field. Piles of cloth appear charred to charcoal at the site.

"The incident occurred around 07.30 WIB. I was right in the fields and saw smoke coming from the middle of the warehouse," said a resident of Jatimulyo Village Sami (70), Jatimulyo Village, Pedan District, Klaten
