One of the world's leading textile manufacturers, Lenzing Group, showcased the first steps of the “Fiber Recycling” innovation of its flagship brand, TENCEL™ together with its manufacturing partners, namely Artistic Milliners from Pakistan, Canatiba from Brazil, and Textil Santanderina from Spain. Popular for its high-quality, biodegradable and compostable fiber innovations Lenzing Fiber is well suited for hygiene products and agricultural applications. In order to support recycling in the global textile industry, this innovation will produce denim fabric derived from TENCEL™ brand Lyocell fibers which are recycled using machines.

TENCEL™ always promotes the evolution of fiber solutions by prioritizing the industry and production processes to protect the environment. By using Lyocell waste in this “Fiber Recycling” Innovation, we can change the future of recycling for a sustainable textile industry globally, starting with the denim segment as the initial phase.

“As we continue to look for ways to increase circularity (turnaround) in various components of the textile industry, our value chain partners are in line with our vision over the past decades to innovatively find ways to mechanically recycle TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers in denim production. Although such a concept is still relatively new to the industry in general, the development of the “Fiber Recycling” initiative by TENCEL™ aims to promote the benefits and unlock the full potential of these recycled fabrics.” says Tuncay Kılıçkan, Head of Global Business Development, Denim, at Lenzing.
