The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) noted that in the range from July 2022 to April 2023, foreign investment entered the textile and textile products (TPT) and footwear industry sector worth IDR 3.59 trillion. The investment succeeded in absorbing a workforce of 27,281 people. Ministry of Industry data received by the coil noted that for the footwear industry sector (KBLI 15201 and 15202) there were 7 new investment companies that received injections from foreign investment. Among them are PT Hwa Seung Indonesia (Pati Regency), PT Young Tree Industries (Sukoharjo Regency), and PT Forever One Internasional (Semarang City).

"The total investment value of new FDI in the footwear industry is IDR 3,381,924,221,708 (IDR 3.38 trillion) and (absorbed) a workforce of 25,704 people," wrote a statement in data from the Ministry of Industry, Wednesday (3/5).

Meanwhile, for the textile and apparel industry sector (KBLI 13132, 13133, 13911, 13942, 13991, 14111), there were 7 new PMA investment companies, including PT Indo Sung Il Jaya (Majalengka Regency), PT Jade Coral Textile (Bandung Regency) ), and PT Smart Shirts Semarang (Semarang Regency) with a total investment value of new FDI in the textile and apparel industry worth IDR 216 billion and was able to absorb a workforce of 1,577 people.

The Ministry of Industry noted that the increase in incoming investment in the textile industry sector (KBLI 13) in 2022 shot up 130 percent compared to 2021. The figure is IDR 8.22 trillion in 2022 and IDR 3.57 trillion in 2021.

Meanwhile, the value of incoming investment in the apparel industry (KBLI 14) in 2022 will increase by 131 percent compared to 2021. The figure will reach IDR 6.84 trillion in 2022, from IDR 2.96 trillion in 2021.

Meanwhile, for the leather, leather goods and footwear industry (KBLI 15) in 2022 it recorded an increase of only 22 percent compared to 2021, namely from IDR 7.79 trillion in 2021 to IDR 9.53 trillion in 2022. However, this figure is much faster than investment that entered in 2010 ago, which is only Rp 1.19 trillion.
