Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo released exports of 400 tons of yarn valued at USD 1 million or IDR 14.9 billion to Brazil and India. According to the presidential candidate endorsed by the PDIP and supported by the Perindo Party, the export of yarn produced by PT Duniatex in the Demak Industrial Area, Central Java marks a return to trade after the Covid-19 pandemic. Responding to this, the National Spokesperson for the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo) Yerry Tawalujan said the export of domestic products produced by a yarn factory in Central Java was a symbol of accelerating Indonesia's economic progress. "The export of 400 tons of yarn to Brazil and India released by Ganjar Pranowo is a symbol of accelerating Indonesia's economic progress. This is the beginning of the movement of the wheels of the Indonesian textile industry which will flood foreign export markets," said Yerry in his statement, Thursday (20/7/2023).
Referring to BPS data, the total export of the Indonesian textile industry throughout 2022 is 1.5 million tons. Commodities belonging to the textile industry group include spun yarns, woven fabrics, artificial staple fibres, artificial filament fibres/yarn/strips, knitted fabrics, embroidered fabrics, textile fibres, silk, and other similar goods.
Yerry said that Ganjar Pranowo's experience and track record of successfully developing the Central Java textile industry through the pandemic and exporting abroad were Ganjar's valuable capital to lead the acceleration of recovery and improvement of the domestic industry.
"One of the challenges ahead in the economic field is accelerating export-oriented industries. New markets abroad need to be opened. Exports of yarn are increased to exports of clothing or finished materials," explained the Head of the Perindo Party DPP for Social Affairs who will also advance to become a candidate for the DPR RI from the North Sulawesi electoral district.
"Ganjar Pranowo is the presidential candidate who is most capable of leading Indonesia, especially in the field of accelerating the economy by developing export-oriented industries. Because Ganjar has proven successful in advancing the Central Java textile industry," concluded Yerry.
