The Indonesian Textile Association (API) considers that the election season will indeed have the potential to increase the income of the textile industry. However, entrepreneurs predict that this euphoria will not be felt optimally considering the condition of the domestic industry which is quite depressed due to imported products. Executive Director of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Danang Girindrawardana stated that this political year has the potential to bring benefits to textile industry players. "Although, what will boost sales are segmented categories. For example, T-shirts," he said.

Domestic demand, which has the potential to be controlled, is the hope of business actors to be able to boost textile performance. This is because in the last two years, during the biggest increase, namely Idul Fitri, it was considered not enough to restore sales.

However, Danang said that the current weak export condition is also a situation that must be faced by business actors. According to him, foreign demand has not improved significantly considering that the main buying countries for Indonesian fashion textiles are experiencing economic problems.

"Like Europe, America and several countries in Asia, they are also not having good growth," he said.
