The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (KemenKopUKM)) also participated in the 38th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) in 2023 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang, Banten. This activity is an effort to promote superior Indonesian products while expanding market opportunities for SME exports abroad.  In this event, KemenKopUKM facilitated 22 SMEs to participate in the exhibition, consisting of 2 SMEs in the furniture and home decor category, 9 SMEs in personal care and wellness, and 11 SMEs in the food and beverage sector.

KemenKopUKM also facilitates the MyNyale collective brand which displays superior products from Lombok, which is also the result of collaboration with the United Nation Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Ministry of Trade.

Deputy Secretary for SMEs, KemenKopUKM, Koko Haryono said, MyNyale is a brand that accommodates 12 cooperatives and SMEs. They are part of a collective brand that aims to reach global markets and promote the SDGs 2030.

One of them is the Gumi Nyale Cooperative with waste products, accessories and agricultural food products.

"MyNyale's presence at TEI brings a new perspective to locally made products in Lombok by implementing sustainable product development practices that are internationally recognized to be replicated throughout Indonesia," said Koko, Sunday (22/10/2023).

Apart from that, SMEs have the opportunity to meet potential international buyers from various countries including India, Malaysia, China, Australia, Brazil and many others.

For information, there were 5,600 potential international buyers from 100 countries attending (TEI) this year.

UNIDO National Agrifood Value Chain Specialist Lilik Triyanto said that many visitors consisting of entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs and exporters were present at the MyNyale stand. They expressed interest in discussing potential collaborations, especially for products such as food, textiles and jewelry that could be targeted for export markets.

“One of the entrepreneurs from Chile was very impressed with MyNyale products, especially woven textiles made from water hyacinth fiber. He showed great enthusiasm when asking about the production process and requesting a video showing how it was made. "It was clear that they were very interested in our product," he said.

During the TEI 2023 activities, a Technical Arrangement was also signed between Swisscontact, KemenKopUKM, and Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is a collaboration on Capacity Development for Export Promotion Services. Cooperation includes efforts to improve export promotion services to export-ready companies, providing better access to these companies with a strong focus on Swiss and European target markets.
