To empower the community in the flats, JKT.Creative trains the mothers there to have additional skills and income. Recently, the retail company that has a charitable mission has also released a collection of their handcrafted clothes that are environmentally friendly. Collaborating with five-star hotels, the community of flat-bed mothers makes clothes made from used linen. JKT.Creative collaborated with Hotel Raffles Jakarta to release a series of clothing intended for charity. In order to celebrate International Women's Day 2022, the two collaborate to recycle hotel textile waste which can provide income while supporting environmental sustainability.

From the used linen that is usually used for bed linen and other things, the cloth is transformed into embroidered shirts by the women in the flats who are trained by JKT.Creative.

In the International Women's Day at Raffles Jakarta, Iwet Ramadhan as the founder told about his latest collection. Assigned by Co-Founder Veronica Tan to provide skills to the women in the flats, she found that the linen used in five-star hotels was of high quality and suitable for upcycle. Iwet then asked for the materials from the Raffles Hotel to make shirts. Unexpectedly, the response is quite good and plans to continue.

"Making it into clothes, the result is really good, so let's invite you to make something because JKT.Creative wants to be a hub for people who want to work with flats so that more women are empowered and have skills to increase their income. Because women are pillars of the country, if women have money, children can eat properly, go to school properly, so the children are taken care of and their health improves," he said, Tuesday (15/3/2022).

Now that it can be said that he has succeeded in fostering the community, Iwet is happy to be able to help them a little bit. "We are sure that later we will get money but we have to be patient. It has been proven that it can restore their confidence because after being trained they will dare to look at people, dare to speak," he said.

Regarding a series of shirts made from upcycled linen from five-star hotels, the collection can be found on the JKT.Creative website. The product will also be found at the Raffles Hotel Jakarta.
