President Joko Widodo could not hide his frustration when he said that a lot of domestic procurement comes from imported products. The Head of State considered that this should not be done when the domestic industry was developing, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. From the industrial side, in fact many imported products that enter the government procurement can actually be produced domestically, one of which is uniforms for government employees from the textile industry. "Our ability to produce is definitely capable," said Deputy Chair of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Anne Patricia Sutanto, Friday (25/3/22).

That belief is of course based on domestic textile production figures.

Anne who is also the Vice President Director of PT. Pan Brothers explained that his party is not only ready to procure for the country, but is now also dominantly sending its products overseas. As a result, about the quality of course can compete.

"97 percent of Pan Brothers products are exported to global brands," said Anne.

Seeing the domestic capabilities, the procurement of products should be directed to domestic producers. If you keep importing, it's natural for the President to be upset.

Jokowi mentioned a number of products that can actually be produced domestically but are still imported, one of which is government employee uniforms.

"We buy military and police uniforms and shoes from outside! We produce them everywhere, we can't continue to do this," he continued.

In addition, there are also several other products that irritate Jokowi.

"Try buying imported CCTV, there are domestic ones that can produce it. What is this? We don't think that we are a developed country to buy imported CCTV," said the head of state in a high tone.

"Buy imports. Do we want to continue? Go ahead. I'll announce it later," said Jokowi.
