PLN recorded an increase in electricity consumption for industrial customers by 9.86% in the first quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, overall, the increase in electricity in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta was 2.81% YoY from the previous 7.34 Terra Watt hour (TWh). to 7.55 TWh in the first Quarter of 2022. This increase in electricity consumption is a positive signal of economic recovery in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in the Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Regions. "Electricity consumption is one indicator of an increasing economy, PLN is ready to support community activities and economic recovery by providing reliable electricity," said General Manager of PLN UID Central Java & D.I. Yogyakarta, M. Irwansyah Putra.
The highest YoY increase in electricity consumption was achieved by one of the animal feed processing industries. In addition to animal feed processing, industries that are experiencing growth include textiles, building material processing, and food processing.
"Currently, the electricity supply in Central Java-DIY is in a surplus condition with a reserve margin of 30%, so we are ready to meet the needs of the industry," added Irwansyah.
In addition to the industrial sector, PLN is also intensifying the use of electricity for businesses in the agribusiness sector such as agriculture, animal husbandry, plantations and fisheries through the Electrifying Agriculture Program.
Coinciding with the month of Ramadan, PLN presents a series of promos. One of them is the promotion of adding power for houses of worship. Through this promo entitled 'Ramadan Blessing', customers have the opportunity to increase the power to 11,000 Volt Ampere (VA) for only Rp. 150 thousand.
In addition, for household customers, PLN also offers a number of discount programs for additional electricity costs and the convenience of new installation services.
