The fashion works of the Chairperson of the Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda) of Trenggalek Regency, Novita Hardini, SE., managed to amaze the visitors of Trenggalek Fashion Day at the Textile Museum, Jakarta. Turning Trenggalek's Typical Batik into beautiful Dutch-style clothing, the fabric which is the cultural heritage of the country looks beautiful and elegant. Not only the work of the wife of the Regent of Trenggalek, Batik Trenggalek also looks beautiful and elegant when appearing on the Catwalk after being managed and designed by several famous East Java designs, Saturday (21/5/2022).
"Thank God everything went according to plan and went well. Then I am happy with the works of Batik Trenggalek which are managed or designed through the hands of East Javanese designers," said Novita Hardini after displaying her work at the Textile Museum.
And the traces of history inspire me, she continued, adding, "to make Dutch-style clothing, because living history needs to be fought for," continued this energetic woman.
"Besides holding this event, of course, we want to increase MSMEs. We want to penetrate the market and we want to bring Batik Trenggalek to expand the market. Especially for the people of Jabodetabek, first so they can hear Batik Trenggalek, what the philosophy is like, what kind of beauty, "he explained.
Then what we hope is that all people in the national arena can help us, friends of MSME players, by buying their products in this exhibition.
Accompanying his wife in the effort to introduce MSME products, the Regent of Trenggalek, Mochamad Nur Arifin, believes that Trenggalek Fashion Day can give enthusiasm to MSME activists in Trenggalek. "Of course I believe, the parameters as we can see behind, people are busy serving buyers. After the fashion show, Batik Trenggalek was really crowded with visitors," explained the young regent.
For friends who are already here, he continued, adding, "you can go to Tokopedia and type Tresno Trenggalek. Later, a special store for all Trenggalek products will appear. Starting from batik, snacks and even like the shoes that I wear. All the results of the Trenggalek craftsmen are there," he said.
The efforts of the Chairperson of the Trenggalek Regency Dekranasda in expanding the MSME market in this event are starting to be felt. Like the blusukan at Tanah Abang Market (the largest textile center in Southeast Asia) some time ago. This effort does not only get a response from traders. Just introduced, one of the traders in this market asked for 10 pieces of cloth. That night, I asked for another 20 pieces.
Even then, when it was delivered to the seller, the buyer had been waiting for 5 pieces of cloth. This was confirmed by the Head of the Trenggalek Regency Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises and UMKM Service, Agus Setiyono.
According to him, after the Head of Dekranasda made a visit to Tanah Abang Market, the Trenggalek Regent's hard work paid off immediately. Not only the merchants responded, but several pieces of Trenggalek Batik were immediately sold.
"It's true that Mrs. Novita's efforts yesterday, Tanah Abang Market blusukan received a positive response from traders and sold well. This shows that there are opportunities and positive responses from the market in the center of the capital city. Of course, as the Supporting Agency, we will encourage this by continuing to assist MSME actors and their superior products to be able to find a wider market," he said.
