A local fashion brand from Bandung, Calla The Label, launched its first collection using environmentally friendly and carbon-free fiber material, TENCEL™ Carbon-Zero. In collaboration with actress and model Febby Rastanty, this collection consists of top, pants, outer, jacket, and summer hat. In this collection, Calla The Label displays a unique and cheerful motif, which is represented in the motifs titled "River" and "Seeds".

The designed “River” motif was inspired by the words of the legendary writer, Maya Angelou: “A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will without pretense and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself and only herself.” A dynamic graphic design with a dominant turquoise color reflects the flow of a flowing river with twists or challenges in the current. However, no matter how many twists or challenges one faces, the flow of the river will end up in the ocean.

Febby Rastanty said, like a river that continues to flow, which blends with the harmony of ourselves and the universe, will enable us to overcome the challenges that lie ahead and ultimately lead us to the final destination.

While the second motif "Seeds" was specifically inspired by the character of Febby who is cheerful, full of enthusiasm, and never gives up. In terms of his professional career, he consistently continues to learn from experience and create improvisations in order to present works that fans can love. "Like a plant seed that is fertilized and cared for until it bears fruit - this simple inspiration reminds us to always try to do our best every day, until finally we can enjoy the sweet fruit of that hard work," said Febby, in a press statement.

All of Calla The Label's first collections are made of environmentally friendly and carbon-free TENCEL™ Carbon-Zero fibers, which were introduced by the Lenzing Group, the producer of TENCEL™ fibers, since 2020. While still carrying the main character of TENCEL™ fiber which is natural, comfortable on the skin, and can be decomposed back into nature, TENCEL™ Carbon-Zero fiber presents a new standard of material for textiles with a carbon footprint that has been minimized during the production process. The presence of TENCEL™ Carbon-Zero fiber is an innovation from the Lenzing Group to address the market's need for circular economy solutions and strengthen Lenzing's commitment to achieving carbon emissions free by 2050.

This collaboration is a manifestation of the commitment of the Lenzing Group, the producer of TENCEL™ fiber, to respond to the demand for sustainable fashion products and can significantly reduce the impact of carbon emissions. “The inaugural collection of TENCEL™ Carbon-Zero fibers with Calla The Label is a manifestation of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint, especially in the fashion industry. By choosing fashion products with TENCEL™ Carbon-Zero fiber, it means that consumers have contributed to caring for the earth and the environment,” explained Margret Marito, Marketing & Branding Manager, Lenzing Group SEA and Oceania.

Yeri Afriyani, Founder of Calla The Label, also said that this collaboration aims to continue
educate the public about the benefits and importance of choosing fashion products that are designed not only responsibly, but also pay attention to environmental aspects, such as reducing carbon emissions for the sustainability of the earth's future. “We are happy and proud to be the first local fashion brand in Indonesia to use TENCEL™ Carbon-Zero fiber. This collaboration marks one of the important achievements in Calla The Label's journey and our real contribution to making the Indonesian fashion industry more environmentally friendly and having a positive impact," said Yeri.

The inaugural Calla The Label and Febby Rastanty collections using TENCEL™ Carbon-Zero fiber will be available from 1 July 2022 at all offline stores and Calla The Label's website.
