Workers who are members of the Garment and Leather Textile Workers Union, All Indonesian Workers Union (SP TSK SPSI) request that Sukabumi District have a Regional Regulation (Perda) on Manpower.
Head of SP TSK SPSI Sukabumi Regency, Mochamad Popon revealed that the May Day commemoration in the middle of the pandemic and Ramadan was delivered in an audience with the leaders of Sukabumi Regency.
"Many things were conveyed in the hearing, such as asking the local government to draft a labor regulation, providing ambulances in every company and disseminating the work copyright law," he explained.
With regard to the Manpower Regulation, labor unions wish to have local regulations that provide protection for workers and business actors as well as regulations that are participatory, aspirational, transparent and accountable.
"So the existence of the perda that we want, really provides protection for workers and business actors," he said.
In addition, his party asked local governments to fully socialize the work copyright law. So, not only convey things that benefit entrepreneurs. "So, socialize real and complete information. Don't just convey it from the side that benefits the entrepreneur," he said.
He also asked the government to encourage companies to provide ambulances. "We want every company to have an ambulance to facilitate access when someone is sick," he concluded.
The Regent of Sukabumi, Marwan Hamami added, the various inputs will be followed up. So, it will have a positive impact for future improvements. "We will look at various inputs. Later the results can be executed through policies, "he concluded.
