The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the textile industry. The economic downturn causes people's purchasing power to decline, resulting in housing for some employees and a decrease in the income earned by industry players.

However, there are still Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) players in Surabaya who are good at taking advantage of opportunities and have managed to earn billions in turnover in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

It is Sleep Buddy Bedding, this MSME owned by Indah Catur Agustin has succeeded in utilizing marketing digitalization using the Tokopedia (Tokped) e-commerce platform.

When participating in the Tokopedia Virtual Media Briefing with the theme Tokopedia Encouraging the Digitization of Home and Living MSMEs in the Face of a Pandemic, Indah said that currently her sales have increased almost 20 times in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same time in 2020.

"So the turnover we get from this Tokopedia reaches more than Rp. 900 million and 80% of sales we get from the online sales system through the e-commerce of Tokopedia, ”explained Indah, Monday (31/5/2021).

Indah, who is currently successful in the industry, started her business as a reseller and founded Sleep Buddy Bedding in 2009 by selling a variety of quality bed linen products at affordable prices.

This local product uses a variety of materials ranging from local cotton, Japanese cotton, tencel poly, tencel, jackguard tencel and jackguard kingkoil.

He admitted that he has been struggling with online business using e-commerce Tokopedia since 2017.

"In this time of the Covid-19 pandemic, our spirit must not subside, for that I keep racking my brain how I can continue to survive and stay profitable," said Indah.

Indah said that to survive, she used a strategy to collaborate with influencers and participate in various campaigns on Tokopedia including Home Living SALEbrations.

So that through this strategy, the products can be recognized by people outside the city of Surabaya.

Until now, the business managed by Indah has also been able to empower many tailors from Purwantoro and Wonogiri.
