"Thrifting" or the activity of buying quality used products, has now become a trend among young people in Karawang. From hobbies and intentions to reduce textile waste, by buying quality used clothes, they are now making money. The coordinator of the Karawang Thrift Market, Supriyadi, revealed that this hobby has emerged since the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Together with his colleagues in the Karawang Thrift Market Community, Supriyadi held a Thrift Vaganza in collaboration with Gramedia World Karawang on 2-5 December 2021.

"There are 20 tenants, one community has joined," said Ipey, Supriyadi's nickname was met on the sidelines of the event.

The used clothes on display also vary. Starting from tops, bottoms, bags, to shoes. The price ranges from IDR 50,000 to IDR 1 million

Used clothes that are still worth wearing, said Ipey, are favored by many millennials. Because the price is slanted even though it's good or even branded.

"One of the goals is to reduce textile industry waste. As a contribution to protecting the environment," he said. In the second event which was held at Gramedia World Karawang, in a day the turnover reached Rp. 10 million to Rp. 20 million. "The system is profit sharing," he said.

Outside of the event, members of the Karawang Thrift Market also sell online and offline. One of the sellers of quality used clothing online is @tilasonetour.

One of them being offline is by opening stands in coffee shops. Also work together from event to event.
