Cap batik craftsmen are again made complicated in developing their business. After being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, they are now burdened with rising textile dye prices. Currently, the price of batik dyes reaches Rp. 280 thousand per kilogram. The increase in the price of textile dyes has made batik craftsmen distraught because their business has started to run in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. "In the past it was only Rp. 260 thousand per kilogram, now it has increased to Rp. 280 thousand," said Hartono, 48, a batik craftsman from Panjen Hamlet, Jambewangi Village, Sempu District, yesterday (12/12).
Hartono admitted that he was dizzy due to the declining number of sales. Currently, the price of batik per meter is difficult to increase. The price of stamped batik produced is only Rp. 28 thousand per meter. "The price has been determined from Bali, I sent batik there," he said.
