The Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, asked companies to commit to implementing a good wage structure and scale. The implementation takes into account the capabilities and productivity of each company. "This commitment is important so that we can get out of the Minimum Wage (UM) issue and talk about productivity-based wages," said the Minister of Manpower at a discussion entitled Ngopi SUSU (Smart Talk on Wage Structure and Scale) in Jakarta, Friday (17/12). The discussion was attended by the West Java Province Textile Product Entrepreneurs Association (PPPTPJB), the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry Indonesia (KoCham),
and the Korea Garment Manufacturer's Association in Indonesia (KOGA). The Minister of Manpower stated that the implementation of the structure and scale of wages in companies will provide benefits, both for employers and their workers.
According to him, the benefits of the structure and scale of wages for companies, namely as a strategic tool to support the company philosophy, administrative aids in the context of cost planning, and as a mechanism for determining competitive wages so that they can recruit, retain and motivate quality workers which in the end realize serenity and continuity of business.
The benefits of the structure and scale of wages for workers will guarantee aspects of justice so that there is no discrimination, the achievement of equal pay because the amount of wages is given based on the weight of the position, work comfort, and the creation of a conducive atmosphere for increasing professionalism and productivity which in turn can improve the welfare of workers/laborers. .
He further said that the implementation of the structure and scale of wages will also provide justice for the company and its workers.
According to him, it is fair for the company because the wages paid by employers to workers are in accordance with the contributions made by workers in achieving company goals, but the wages are also reasonable for the recipients.
While fair for workers, i.e. workers who have equal position values get the same wages, or workers who have high position values get higher wages. "So by implementing the structure and scale of wages will provide justice. Fair for employers, fair for workers, fair between workers, and fair between regions," he said.
