The national textile and textile product industry is now struggling hard to remain the host in its own country amidst the incessant invasion of textiles from China as well as the entry of imported second-hand clothes or thrifting. The government is targeting Indonesia to become the world's top 5 textile manufacturers in 2030 with a specialization in functional clothing. The Ministry of Industry has made several programs that are expected to make this target run smoothly. Among other things, the import substitution program in which the government will limit imports and replace them by increasing production utilization which is in line with other programs, namely the annual restructuring of machinery and equipment.

The government also guarantees the ease of obtaining raw materials, reducing the price of natural gas in the production process, and currently the main concern is investment expansion.
