The 19th edition of the exhibition will last for 3 days from 29 (Wednesday) – 31 (Friday) March 2023 presenting more than 500 participants from 11 Asian and European countries.

"The textile industry is slowly rising and returning to become one of the manufacturing industries that contributes greatly to the national economy. Peraga Expo is optimistic that the holding of Inatex – Indo Intertex 2023 can add a boost to the development of the National TPT Industry.” said Paul Kingsen, Expo Demonstration Project Director.

The government is targeting Indonesia to become the world's top 5 textile manufacturers in 2030 with a specialization in functional clothing.

For this reason, the government through the Ministry of Industry has made several programs that are expected to make this target run smoothly, including the Import substitution program where the government will limit imports and replace them by increasing production utilization which is in line with other programs, namely the restructuring of machinery and equipment every year.

Then the government also guarantees the ease of obtaining raw materials, reducing the price of natural gas in the production process, and what is currently the main concern is investment expansion.

"Investment in the textile industry recorded a positive contraction of 125% in the third quarter of 2022, valued at $44.1 billion, the apparel industry also grew positively with an investment value of $34.7 billion, an increase of 142% from the same period in the previous year." said Jemmy Kartiwa Sastraatmaja, Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association.

"The existence of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) free trade agreement has made Indonesia a significant supplier of textile goods to several countries so that it is hoped that there will be an increase in exports of the textile and fashion sector. Indonesia needs to have a strategy to increase exports of highly competitive products.

Seeing this positive trend has revived the confidence of entrepreneurs and is optimistic about the textile industry for the next 6 months. In 2022, the TPT industry absorbed more than 3.65 million people, the export value also increased by 6.56% compared to the previous year." Said Adi Rochmanto Pandiangan, Director of the Textile, Leather, Footwear and Miscellaneous Industries of the Ministry of Industry.
