The most complete international TPT (Textile and Textile Products) industrial exhibition, Indo Intertex – Inatex 2023, is being held again starting today, Wednesday, 29 March to 31 March 2023 at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran. More than 500 companies from 18 Asian and European countries presented their products and the latest technological innovations from textile and garment machinery, raw materials, digital printing machines, textile chemicals, accessories and other textile products. "As a business accelerator for the national TPT and fashion industries, Indo Intertaex - Inatex 2023 brings together all professionals in the textile and fashion industry who wish to collaborate, share knowledge, and develop their business together, as well as present the results of their research on the latest technological and material developments, ” said Expo Demonstration Project Director Paul Kingsen, quoted on Friday (31/3/2023).

Indo Intertex and Inatex play an important role as a credible platform to transform the local textile and garment industry by introducing new technologies to the world.

The two exhibitions are interrelated, namely Indo Intertex presenting machinery and equipment. Meanwhile, Inatex presents fiber, thread, fabric, apparel, accessories/zipper/button/belt raw materials and nonwoven industrial products.

Several big names in the textile industry participating in this year's exhibition include APR, OBOR, INDOHOSE, DALIATEX, etc. The technologies introduced are massive technologies that support the concept of an environmentally friendly industry.

Expo exhibitors have developed an online interactive platform technology to bring together exhibitors and visitors using the Texmatch application.

Through this application allows them to interact directly, before and after the event while opening up new opportunities. Expo exhibitors do not set transaction targets during the exhibition, considering that Indo Intertex - Inatex is business to business (B2B).

However, seeing last year's success, with all the restrictions on activities in connection with the pandemic, Indo Intertex 2022 was able to record a total transaction of US$ 75 million, which was calculated unofficially.

"Judging from the type of engine this year, it looks like it could grow 10 percent to around US$ 82.5 million," explained Paul Kingsen.

Speaking at the opening of the Indo Intertex – Inatex 2023 exhibition, Jemmy Kartiwa Sastraatmaja, General Chair of the Indonesian Textile Association welcomed the government's initiative to strictly ban the import of used clothes.

The TPT industry is a labor-intensive industry where labor needs to be paid regularly while income is based on an average of only 60 percent.

“This means that productivity does not include the need to meet operational costs. So that currently the TPT sector really hopes for government assistance in this matter to overcome one of which is the import of used clothes which is increasingly rampant," said Jemmy.
