Sovereignty of clothing can be realized if there is strong collaboration and partnership between the government, legislature, and textile and textile product (TPT) industry stakeholders in the country. Need a legal or regulatory umbrella that has implications for boosting performance as well as saving the future of the national textile industry. That was the common thread from the Industry Trends focus group discussion (FGD) activity entitled The activity presented sources closely related to the textile and electrical energy industries in Central Java.

There are various problems currently being faced by the labor-intensive industrial sector, including the textile industry. The scourge of the Covid-19 pandemic coupled with Russia's prolonged conflict with Ukraine which has not been resolved has had a negative impact on the performance of the textile industry.

The performance of the textile industry has fallen sharply due to the low level of demand, especially from abroad. This condition is compounded by the flood of used clothing products which erode domestically made textile products.

“The textile industry is in a bad condition. Where do you want to take labor-intensive industries? The government must step in to save the textile industry," said Chairman of the Provincial Executive Board (BPP) of the Central Java Indonesian Textile Association (API), Dewanto Kusuma Wibowo, Saturday.

Therefore, special regulations are needed to regulate the textile industry comprehensively. Of course, it must involve the people's representatives in parliament who are tasked with drafting and issuing regulations. "There is already a law on food. Housing also has regulations. It's just clothing that doesn't have rules yet," he said.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of PLN, Eko Sulistyo said stakeholders and stakeholders must sit together to find the most effective solution towards clothing sovereignty. This should involve the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Finance and textile industry associations in Indonesia.

Partnerships involving the private sector to encourage national economic growth. "Including DPR commission VII with the scope of energy tasks. So we need partnerships and synergy in order to contribute to national economic growth," he said.
