Efforts to monitor health protocols in the Tanah Abang Market area and its surroundings are still being intensified at this time, after the massive crowd last weekend went viral on social media.

Perumda Pasar Jaya has claimed to have prepared posts at a number of points in the largest textile market area in Southeast Asia since yesterday, Monday (3/5/2021). Some officers are also deployed to monitor and supervise the implementation of health protocols.

The President Director of Perumda Pasar Jaya, Arief Nasrudin, revealed that since the opening of the Tanah Abang Market yesterday morning, officers have set restrictions on visitors to a maximum of 50 percent of market capacity.

The flow of entry and exit of the market is also regulated so as to unravel the buildup in the market.

"Efforts to break down the density of visitors are so that there is no accumulation of buyers in just one location," said Arief.

"The officer reminded that if one location is full, people do not crowd and look for other locations, considering that there are quite a lot of shops selling similar products in the Tanah Abang Market area," he added.

All visitors are asked to wash their hands using soap, have their temperature checked, and must always wear a mask.

Some other officers, both at the post and in the market, also used toa to appeal to the public to fully understand the implementation of the health protocol.

In addition, since yesterday evening, the kiosk was closed early in the Tanah Abang Market.

"Stores that are on odd floors are asked to close at 16.00 pm and those on even floors close at 17.00. This is to prevent the buildup of visitors going out at the same time, "explained Arief.

Arief claims that this technical arrangement is carried out not only in Tanah Abang Market, but also in all markets that are shaded by Perumda Pasar Jaya. On the other hand, access to Tanah Abang Market has also been engineered since yesterday.

20 Transjakarta buses have been prepared from Dukuh Atas Station to Tanah Abang Blok A Market in order to reduce the pile of people bringing vehicles to the market.

The KRL operation was also engineered, so that the commuter line did not stop at Tanah Abang Station from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
