Uzbekistan is set to establish a trade house for its textile products in Madrid, following recent agreements with Spain. This development aims to test Uzbek textiles in the Spanish market and enhance their visibility.

The agreements were reached during a series of meetings in Madrid between an Uzbek business delegation—including officials from the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, along with representatives from textile firms—and major Spanish companies. Discussions with Alejandro Pastrana, CEO of Gedepsa, focused on promoting Uzbek textiles in Spain.

In talks with international consultant Albert Hernandez, the parties addressed strategies for product promotion, logistics, and distribution. Hernandez will help establish connections with Spanish fashion companies and facilitate Uzbek producers' participation in Spanish tenders.

Additionally, meetings with the global procurement departments of El Corte Inglés and Tendam explored opportunities to feature Uzbek textiles in their retail chains. Spanish companies also expressed interest in participating in international textile exhibitions scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan in Fall 2024.
