Textile and garment manufacturer PT Trisula Textile Industries Tbk. (BELL) does not deny that the swiftness of imported products has disrupted the company's performance.
However, the Managing Director of Trisula Textile Karsongno Wongso Djaja believes that what the textile and textile products (TPT) industry has been listening to has certainly been listened to by the government. The company also ensures that all government decisions such as safeguard policies have taken into account the interests of this industry.
"I underline here to anticipate imported products we have done as a company with a customize order scheme, we ensure that we will provide better products than imports," he said.
Karsongno said that with a strategy of providing higher quality products than imports, consumers will certainly be able to decide to buy and choose the most suitable product to wear.
Meanwhile, in terms of the company's export performance this year, the company said it would still be picky considering the risk of a lockdown in the country that is still happening at this time. The reason is, this is quite influential in the delivery process so that it is slower than normal conditions.
"We have customers in England, Japan, India, and others but now only one or two countries have passed, so we are waiting for them to be opened," he said.
Overall, this year the company is optimistic about the 8 percent growth set for this year. This is because last year the company experienced a deep decline.
Last year, the company had to record a decline in sales of up to 24.6 percent to IDR 538 billion due to tight restrictions. For this reason, the target of around 8 percent this year is a natural thing, considering that during the first three months of this year the company has made a profit.
"Last year we also lost a lot of momentum from the big day where retails, malls and shops had to close. This year, although it is still not as festive as before the pandemic and not only from retail, we also accept orders from brands," he said.
